This wine is lifted and aromatic showing blue and red fruits, soft and textural with beautiful, generous and integrated tannins. It is pure, delicate and thought provoking.
Since planting Tempranillo at Gemtree in 1999 we have been experimenting with making different styles to showcase the region and our biodynamic philosophy. In that time Tempranillo trio has emerged, Luna Roja, Luna Temprana and Luna de Fresa. This is our second year of Preservative Free Tempranillo (no S02). The style is about purity, freshness, vibrance and balance. This wine captures all of that. Processing is very simple, hand-picked, cooled and left to sit on skins for seven days. Then it is lightly pressed using the free run only, fermentation was held at 14 degrees to retain all the varietal definition we tasted in the vineyard. When the grapes taste this good in the vineyard we allow the processes to occur naturally.
